Production Notes:
To be the first American community theatre to perform Les Mis is daunting enough without adding the fact that the Roadside Theatre is a relatively small space.  We looked at the London/Broadway productions, then said, "That's nice, but what can we do in our space?"  Essentially, we just made this show our own.  The approach to lighting was to reflect the destitute condition of the characters through a shadowy, "incomplete" lighting.  It was also essentially a "cool-colorless" look, except when dealing with the Bishop and the moments of death, when warm lighting was introduced.  Also, as no turntable was used , the flow of the show relied mostly on the lighting, drawing the audience's attention from one portion of the stage to another.
