Joseph provides a wonderful opportunity for a lighting designer to have fun. I strove to capture the feeling of each of the various song styles in the lighting. From the basic look or a bright, hot stage with a golden background, the various songs allow for various looks. The meeting with Potipher's wife allows for strong colors punctuate her advances. "One More Angel in Heaven" is a great place for a sunset look on the cyc to play against the false lament. Also, the Carolina Theatre, with it's immense size, required the use of spotlights, which were used quite extensively, and also played into the fun of Joseph getting all the attention.
