Notes:
For our production of Brighton Beach Memoirs
the
lighting reflected the family's apprehension about the outside
world.
For the most part, the home space was lit warmly, an indication of the
warmth
and love to be found in the family. Outside the home space, a
world
with ever increasing peril, was relatively cooler, and when needed much
cooler. The practical of the porch light, not only fills out a
touch
of realism, but
is also a warm beacon for the wayward (or potentially wayward) members
of
the family.
