Production Notes:
While time of day is important to Blithe Spirit, as much of the show's time of day is dictated by the script, there is also much fun to be had with the interaction of the living characters with the realm of the dead.  So while the sun shines in through the windows early on, when nothing is amiss, when the evening approaches and a seance ensues, the lighting is allowed to come down accordingly.  And since the spirits who interact with the living in this show are not intended to incite fear (as the title would indicate) we are able to bathe the mischievously dead characters with a more enticing look.  Also, as one would expect, the practical lights in the show played a special role as the dead went through various emotions.
